He was born in Litchfield on July 27, 1868, the son of Edward and Mary (Huntington) Buker. For 25 years he was a shoemaker the the Johnson Brothers in Hallowell, and 12 years ago he went into the new and secondhand furniture business in Gardiner.
He was a life member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge No. 9, and a member of the Modern Woodmen. Mr. and Mrs. Buker celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January, 1941.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine S. Griffin Buker; one son, Harold G. Buker of Gardiner; one daughter, Mrs. Harley Dodge of Gardiner; two brothers, Charles Buker of Miami, Fla., and Archie D. Buker of Gardiner; two sisters, Mrs. Alexander McCoobs and Mrs. Mary Spinney of Gardiner; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:20 o'clock at the Staples Funeral Home on Brunswick Avenue.
