Some time during last Monday, Geo. Baker, a young man living on the Jack Fernand farm north of Yale, while attempting to burn off a field where he was at work, lost control of the fire which swept down upon his team which was standing near and in attempting to save them he was overcome by the heat and as a result the young man died at 4 a.m. yesterday. The Echo at this time has only been able to get a meager account of the tragedy, hence we are unable to give the particulars. Mr. Baker lived with his mother and brother and was an energetic young man and his death comes as a shock, not only to his heartbroken mother, but to the entire community as well.
