John Victor Acrey Sr.
He died of tuberculosis at age 31.
Son of: John Henry Acrey and Ila Aseneth (Paine) Acrey
Grandson of: Wesley Acrey & Deborah Anna Delilah Jane (Gilbreath) Acrey.
He and his first wife, Esther Tatum, had two children; a son Robert Lindell b.1924 and a daughter Esther Mozelle b.1927 & d. 1927 (died in infancy).
A Tuberculosis outbreak struck this family hard claiming his and his second wife Clella's first born infant son, John V. Jr., and shortly thereafter his own life, and the life of his father-in-law, James Jasper Lendermon.
His sister, Ada Aseneth "Cenie" Acrey also contracted the disease, however she, fortunately, survived. His youngest child, a son, by his marriage to Clella was born two months before he died. Due to his illness, he was never able to hold his child, however, before he died he was able to view the baby thru a window.
