The daughter of Harrison Etheridge and Eva Sproles Etheridge. She graduated from Atkins High School, and continued her education at business school in Little Rock, and studied accounting at Morrilton Vocational Technical School in Morrilton (now University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton).
Ruth married James L "Bill" Allison, and they spent many happy years together raising their family and working together in their business, Allison Chrysler Plymouth and Dodge of Morrilton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. "Bill" Allison, her brother, Steve Etheridge of Atkins, and her sister, Annette Chapman of Plumerville.
She is survived by her sister, Billie Etheridge Butler of Morrilton; her son John H. Allison and daughter-in-law, Mary Wilson Allison; her daughter, Ann Allison Harris and son-in-law, Thomas H. Harris all of Little Rock, AR; her grandchildren, Amy Allison of Washington, DC, J. Wilson Allison of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Thomas L. Harris of Washington, D.C, Victor A. Harris and Blair E. Harris of Little Rock, AR, and great-grandchildren, Abby and Claire Allison of Fayetteville. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service for the family will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton. Memorials may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church, 105 W Church St., Morrilton, AR 72110.
