Ralph Kerley, 71, of Herrin, formerly of West Frankfort, died Sunday, January 21, 1996, at 10:23 am in Herrin Hospital.
Ralph was born March 18, 1924, in West Frankfort to Edward and Mamie Melvin Kerley.
He married LaDonna Marie Higdon on October 1, 1967, in St Louis, MO. She survives.
He was a warehouseman with United Technologies in Herrin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was a member of Teamsters Local 688. He attended the Community Chapel in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, brothers: Roy Kerley of Benton, Edgar Kerley of Linden, Utah, and Harold Kerley of Sheridan, IL; sisters: Darlene Johnson of Thompsonville , Evelyn Wall of West Frankfort, Gilda Peterman of Benton, and Dolly Wilson of Aurora, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Visitation will be January 23, 1996, at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin from noon until time of service. Graveside service will be at 1:30 pm at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin. The Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Herrin American Legion Post.
