Hilda Rollins

Mrs. Hilda Aycoth Rollins, age 66, of Monroe, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Hilda Rollins will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 3221 Plyler Mill Rd. Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by the Rev. Denise Kilgo-Martin.

Mrs. Rollins was born on December 2, 1945, in Union County, a daughter of the late Clarence (Jimmy) Lee Aycoth and Ruby Hinson Aycoth .

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Johnny Ray Rollins of the home, her son, Jeffrey H. Rollins and wife Dorothy of Monroe, her daughter Stephanie R. Bernard and husband Ronny of Monroe, two sisters, Linda Aycoth Richardson and husband Jimmy of Monroe, and Debra Aycoth Martin of Monroe, her mother-in-law, Louvinia Rollins of Monroe, and four grandchildren, Andrew Bernard, Chase Bernard, Madaline Rollins, and Lila Rollins all of Monroe, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Hilda is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Aycoth Autry, and her brother Johnny Lee Aycoth, both of Monroe.

Hilda was a servant at heart, always working to help others. She loved New Hope United Methodist Church and felt blessed to serve God alongside her church family and friends. She enjoyed her dogs and cats, especially her beloved cat "Tootie" and considered them all part of her family. Hilda was a fun-loving and loyal friend to many and will be missed by everyone that knew her. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Union County for their excellent care and love shown to Hilda during her illness.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church prior to the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Hope United Methodist Church 3221 Plyler Mill Rd Monroe, N. C. 28112.
