Thomas C. Boyers married Rebecca Martin in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on December 7, 1849. According to the 1900 census Thomas and Rebecca immigrated to the United States abt 1850, moving to Philadelphia, PA. Between 1850-1855, three of their seven children were born in Southwark, Philly, PA. By 1858 their 4th child was being born in Henderson County, Illinois. Their firstborn daughter, Helen C. died 4 days after her marriage to Peter Shea in 1868 and is buried in the Reed cemetery in Henderson County.
According to Thomas's death certificate he
died from a mastoid abscess complicated by cerebreal meningitis and age.

E. church Monday afternoon by Rev. T. C. Moots of Flanagan, IL. The remains were interred in the Oquawka cemetery plot # 187 in the west addition.
