Joe B. Blair Dead
Joe B. Blair, who lived at 929 Sunnyslope, died in Newman Memorial County hospital Wednesday night at 7:20 o'clock. He had been a contractor for 20 years until his retirement 11 years ago.
Joe Blair was born March 16, 1882, in Hesston, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blair. He marries Elsie Egy in Moundridge November 28, 1901, and she died in Emporia April 5, 1924, after the family had moved here in 1922. He married Esther Wheeler in Emporia May 18, 1941.
Surviving are his wife, of the home; six sons, Clarence Blair, 404 Elm, Roy Blair of Dunlap, Walter Blair of Los Angeles, Calif., Milford Blair of Downey, Calif., Lacy G. Blair of 1215 West Fifth, and Ellis Blair of Salina; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Searcy, 717 Neosho, Mrs. Vella Endley, 216 South Cottonwood, Mrs. Fay Briles of Salinas, Calif., and Mrs. Fern McIntyre, Claflin; two brothers, Harvey Blair of Newkirk, Okla., and Hubert Blair of Wichita; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Murray of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Millie Bellgard, Newton, and Mrs. Edna Hahn, Phoenix, Ariz,; five granddaughters, two grandsons, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Roberts-Blue chapel. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery.
