Helen L. Beeler-Bowles, 82 of Fort Collins died Sunday, Aug. 17 2003, at Columbine Care Center East following a short illness. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Allnutt Funeral Service Fort Collins. The Rev. Charles Patchen will officiate. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Helen L. Beeler-Bowles was born Oct. 12, 1914, in Fort Collins, to Jesse O. and Myrtle Edna (Lucas) Beeler. Helen graduated from Fort Collins High School and held a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and a master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

She married John Richard Bowles in 1989, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1991.

Helen taught Sunday school at First Christian Church for many years and was a member of Circle 1 of Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa teacher’s sorority, and Delta Zeta Sorority, and the Poudre Retired School Employees Association.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and is survived by four cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
