Dr. William Ralph Pedigo, 93, Topeka, died Thursday, Dec. 6, at a Topeka convalescent home. Dr. Pedigo was a Topeka optometrist many years before he retired in 1961. He was an Army veteran of World War I, serving as band director of his division. He also directed several Topeka bands.
He was born Feb. 25, 1891, in Indiana and came to Topeka while a young man. He graduated from Needles School of Optometry in Kansas City, MO.
Dr. Pedigo was a member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM Scottish Rite Bodies and Arab Shrine at Topeka.
He was married to Florence Horacek in 1921. She survives.
Dr. Pedigo donated his body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research. No memorial services are planned. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
