Apr 30, 1959 – A. R. Bookout Passes Away

A. R. Bookout passed away at a Batesville Hospital April 14, at the age of 77 Years, 9 months and 14 days. He was born at Wiseman, living there all his life.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mary Bookout; seven children, Claude Bookout, Goldie Bookout, Mrs W. C. Hill, all of Wiseman, Mrs Bill Floyd of Violet Hill, Mrs Walter Moremon and Cleatis Bookout of Riverside, California, Mrs Clyde Jones of Kansas City, Mo., one sister Mrs Lizza Goodman of Wiseman; 15 grandchildren, three other children preceded him in death.

He was a faithful member of the Methodist Church for 40 years.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church Friday, April 17, at 2 o'clock. Funeral services were directed by Rev. Claud Masters of Cushman and Rev. Luther Love of Viola.

Orgel Mason and Keith Russell were in charge of the song service.

Casket bearers were Thedival Hill, Dean Bookout, Charles Hill, Granville Todd, Goldie Langston and Claude Jones.

Burial was in the Wiseman Cemetery by the Carter Funeral Home.

Mr Bookout will be greatly missed by his family, his church and his community.
