John M. Gulden, Stratton street, died at the York hospital, Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, from an attack of Bright's disease, following an illness of several months. He was aged about 64 years. Mr. Gulden was formerly employed as flagman for the Western Maryland railroad at the crossing on Stratton street, and served in that capacity until he was stricken last June. Since then he had received treatment at the Harrisburg hospital and was taken to the York hospital several weeks ago.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. R. C. Rockey, Enola; also by three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Mary Bollinger, Hanover; Mrs. Emma Collier, near Baltimore; Mrs. Fanus, near Idaville; William Gulden, York, and H. J. Gulden, Bendersville. The funeral was held from his late home Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock with services by Rev. J. B. Baker. Interment in the New Oxford cemetery.
