Mr. Curtis, who was born in Portland, worked in the shipyards during World War II and later as a machinist. He also had worked in the construction industry.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, International Association of machinists and Aerospace Workers District Lodge 24, Local 63. He also was a member of the Oregon Red Devils Touring Aquatic Team during the 1920s and 1930s.
Surviving are his wife, Maybelle; daughters, Suzanne of Portland and Carol K. Stilz of Olympia; brothers, Nuburn of Redlands, Calif., and George of Oregon City; and one grandchild. Oregonian, October 19, 1987
