Ferris W. Abbett, a retired employee of Pacific Northwest Bell, died in a Seattle hospital at age 86.
He was born in Albany, but lived in Portland, OR most of his life. He moved to Seattle six weeks before his death. He attended Willamette University and served in the Army in France during World War I. We was employed by the telephone company in 1919 and continued until his retirement in 1959. He was past president of the Telephone Pioneers Association. Survivors include his wife Lois, a daughter, six grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
