Mokutaro Hori was born in Obita Kun, Japan, June 17, 1873. He came to America in 1896 and spent a year in Seattle, 10 years in Kalispell, and has been a resident of the city of Whitefish for the past 24 years.
He was married to Miss M. Aya in 1915.
He passed away Saturday morning in the hotel, which he had built and operated. There remains to mourn his loss his widow of Whitefish, a daughter, Koko Haisako, who lives in Japan.
Mr. Hori was a pioneer of Whitefish, a man of kindly disposition, a marvelous capacity for friendship, infinite compassion for those in need, a keen business man, an excellent citizen and always interested in community welfare.
