Map: Shows Stephen D Barnes property at 334 Shore Rd (Between Central Ave and Van Pelt Ave), Port Richmond in 1874. Shore Rd. is now called Richmond Terrace and the address of the house is now 2876 Richmond Terrace.

The house was built in c. 1853 for Stephen D. Barnes, an oysterman, and his wife Judith. "Located in Mariners' Harbor, it is one of the very few surviving houses of the "Captains' Row" which once lined the Shore Road (now Richmond Terrace) facing the Kill van Kull and Newark Bay." The house is still standing.
