Ronald G.(Red) Haskins was born July 29, 1942 to Glen H. Haskins and Rhetha B. Durning Haskins in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His father died the following year and his mother moved to Fayetteville, AR near her family. Ronald grew up on South College Ave. near Jefferson School. He later joined the Arkansas National Guard. Ronald was a Deputy Sheriff and later a Fayetteville Police Officer. He retired due to knee injuries. Ronald loved to fish and was often at Lake Sequoyah with his son. He also ran a lawn mower repair service and had a race car for a while and loved to grow a garden. Red lost his battle with kidney failure on June 6th, 2001 and passed away at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was cremated per his wishes and his ashes were scattered on his sons land North of Sallisaw, OK.
