The community was greatly shocked Tuesday by the death of Henry B. Smith, which occurred very suddenly Monday night, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Tripp, where he and Mrs. Smith have been living the past winter. Mr. Smith had not been in good health for some months, but was able to attend to his duties as manager of the Ludington Woodenware company, and was in his usual state of health Monday. During the few years Mr. Smith had been in town he had made an unusually large number of friends. Mrs. Smith is prostrated by her husband's death. He leaves, besides his wife, two daughters, Mrs. George Tripp of this town and Mrs. Clarence B. Kelland of Long Island, N.Y., one son. Howard B. Smith, of Island Falls, Me., and five grandchildren. There will be prayers at the home tomorrow evening, and Friday morning the family will accompany the body to Ludington, Mich., for burial with Masonic honors.
