Vera G. McKinney died at 8:25 a.m. April 4, 2003, in Bon Secours Venice Hospital, Venice, Fla.

Mrs. McKinney was a 1939 graduate of Kirklin High School and attended business college in Kokomo. She was a homemaker and worked briefly in the Clinton County Recorder's office. She was a lifetime member of the Kirklin Christian Church. She also belonged to the Jolly Dozen Club of Kirklin and PM Home Economics Club and was a former member of the Dorcas Society.

Mrs. McKinney was born April 28, 1920, in Boone County to Lancaster H. and Verna McCoskey Beard. She married Harold V. McKinney on July 27, 1941, and he survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jay T. (Rosie) of rural Frankfort; one daughter, Mrs Bert (Carol A.) Weaver of Frankfort; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

One son, Ned V., and one sister, Vaughn Newton, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Goodwin Funeral Home. Calling will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin.
