Mrs. Foster faithfully attended churches in the area, including Hatteras United Methodist, Frisco Assembly, the Church of God of Prophecy in Manteo, and others. She loved working, enjoyed staying busy and will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her son, Desmond R. "Buddy" Foster Jr. and wife Faye of Hatteras; her daughters, Carolyn F. Austin and husband Tate of Virginia Beach, Linda Foster of Tarboro, NC; her sisters, Barbara Bunting, Carolyn Parker, Mary Curles; her brother, Dick Farrow; her seven grandchildren, Aren Austin, Lacy Schmidt, Desmond Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Heather Harrison, Marshall Foster, Krystal Foster; and her three great-grandchildren, Sean Doyle, Zander Harrison, and Kendall Harrison.
The funeral will be held Monday, June 11, at the Hatteras United Methodist Church with Rev. Cory Oliver and Rev. Dwight Burrus officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, 1220 B East Joppa Rd. Suite 332, Baltimore, MD 21286 or the Hatteras United Methodist Church Bereavement Community.
A sincere thank you to family and friends for your many expressions of love and support in the loss our loved one. Also a special thanks to Ms. Irene to being such wonderful friend to our mother. A reception to continue celebrating the life of our wonderful mother and grandmother will be at the home of Buddy and Faye Foster in Hatteras Village after the service.
