Born to William Ross Walker (1842-1916) & his first wife, Sarah Jane Burris Walker (1846-1879). After Sarah's death at age 33, Ross married Martha Jane Simmons (1852-1931) in 1880, who raised William Alva Walker & his siblings.

William Walker married Rosa Belle Coney (1883-1970) on Dec. 25, 1901, in Pike County, MS.

Twelve children:

In 1918, William Alva Walker, Sr., listed his occupation as farmer, but by 1920 he was the owner of a retail grocery store.

In 1930, William was again farming and the family lived in the Bearden community of Pike County. They had a servant named Minerva Dunn to help around the house.

W. A. Walker Road runs east from Old Hwy. 24 two miles to a dead end at an old logging company. The Walker Cemetery is located across the street from the following address: 2076 Alberta Drive, Magnolia, MS.
