Daphane Juanita Cross was born on March 8, 1925 in Frogville, Oklahoma to Charlie Polk Cross and Harriett Eliza (Oakes) Cross. She is survived by 3 sisters, Oriana Kilpatrick of Maryville, TN, Fannie Sue Wilson of Tulsa, OK, and Mary Eliza Baxter of Oklahoma City, OK; She is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Lorenza Oakes Cross, Charles (Bo) Cross, Ben Marvin Cross, and Polk Cross. Nita lived most of her life in Oklahoma ~ on the farm then moved to Oklahoma City to help run her father's store. She moved to Hayward, California and became a welder at the naval ship yards on submarines. Later she owned and operated a grocery sore and rental property. In the 80's she moved back to Tulsa to care for her ailing mother and to help her sister, Sue at Dawson Building Supply. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing, and was a sports fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her family members. She lived the last 3 years of her life with her sister, Sue Wilson, and passed away on June 9, 2012 at the age of 87.
