Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Montrose. She was born to Peter and Amanda Licher on a farm near Montrose on January 5, 1896. She was a lifelong resident of that community and an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church until she moved to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home, near Liberty, in 1994. Mrs. Cole was committed to her family. Her career was homemaker, parenting and grandparenting. She was the mother of seven, grandmother of 24 and great-grandmother of 44, all of whom were present when she celebrated her 100th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert L. Cole, who died on January 6, 1976, and her daughter, Viola C. Grant. She is survived by a daughter, Loraine Grant, Clinton; five sons and daughter-in-law, James and Anna Cole, Salina, Ks. Harold and Edna Cole, Liberty, Marcellus (Bud) and Beatrice Cole, Gladstone, Eugene and Patricia Cole, Kansas City, and John (Pete) and Patricia Cole, Kansas City; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
