Jacob Schmidt and Mary Renn were married 03 Feb 1857 at St. Mary's Church in Floyd County, Indiana - the Schmidt's lived across the creek in Clark County. Jacob and Mary migrated to Cole County, Missouri before 1870 with Mary's brothers Jacob Andrew and Mathias Renn. Anna's parents (Joseph Renn and Maria Penth)remained in Indiana and are buried in Saint Mary of the Knobs Cemetery in New Albany, IN. The Renn family were from the Illingen, Wiesbach area of Germany, and lived about three miles from the Schmidt family. The Renn's emigrated to America around 1830, settling for two years in Pennsylvania and then in Floyd County, Indiana.
