GALVA, Iowa -- Glen A. Still, 88, of Galva passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at North Lake Manor Living and Rehabilitation in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Services were Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Galva, with the Rev. Paul D. Egger officiating. Burial was in Galva Township East Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Dibbern Post 454 of Galva.

Glen A. Still was born on Dec. 23, 1923, to Robert and Nellie (Hawn) Still, northwest of Holstein, Iowa in Griggs Township. The family moved to North Dakota in 1926, then moved to Ida Grove, Iowa in 1936. Glen attended Ida Grove High School. He served in the Armed Forces in 1945 and 1946 and was stationed in the Philippines.

Glen was united in marriage to Phyllis Ehler on June 8, 1947. In the same year, He started farming in Danbury, Iowa and moved to Galva in 1951. He also sold P.A.G. seed corn and worked as a carpenter for Jess Construction. He retired from farming in 1992.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a golfer, fisherman and a member of the American Legion Dibbern Post 454 of Galva. He also enjoyed family get-togethers.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis of Galva; daughters, Jeanette (Darrell) Ehlers of Holstein, and Susan (Steve) Jimmerson of Alta, Iowa; son, Robert (Darlene) Still of Galva; grandchildren, Curt Ehlers, Craig Ehlers, Clint Ehlers, Courtney Brink, Kim Shunnarah, Kelly Smith, Kory Kock, Marc Kock, Marty Jimmerson, Wendi Geno and Jessica Jensen; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Still of Sioux City; four sisters, Gladys Bower of Battle Creek, Iowa, Doris Lacey of Battle Creek, June Grieve of California, and Audrey Kent of California; and many more extended relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Hugo and Lydia (Schwenk) Ehler; daughter, Beverly Tjaden; three brothers; and one sister.
