SOUTH BEND - Roger Lamar Wingett, 72, of Llano, Texas, passed away in his residence on Friday, December 16, 2011. He was born November 29, 1939, to Chester Wingett and Hazel (Dare) Wingett in South Bend, Indiana.

Roger was married to Cheryl Ann McCune until her death in 2006; he later met his best friend and companion, Susan M. Cook.

Mr. Wingett was a member of the American Legion Post in Llano. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sisters, Judy Knapp and Darlene Nunemaker.

Survivors include companion, Susan M. Cook of Llano, Texas; sons, Perrin Lamar Wingett of Llano, Texas, Dennin Laman Wingett and wife, Tracy of Auburn, California, Bobby Vernon Wingett of St. Marys, Ohio; daughters, Halene "Sissy" M. Sell and husband, Darren of St. Marys, Ohio, Gina Marie Guynes and husband Ray of San Angelo, Texas; sisters, Sandy Hartman and husband, George of South Bend, Indiana, and Deb Gee and husband, Larry of Mishawaka, Indiana; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association , 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231. Cremation arrangements made under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc., Llano, Texas.
