Emma Sue Mallory, 88 of Parkersburg, died Sunday, March 24, 2002 at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born July 3, 1913 in Parkersburg, the daughter of the late Milton and Hazel Bailey Brown.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, E. L. "Billie" Mallory of Parkersburg; two sons and daughter-in-laws, William and Carolyn Mallory of Buckhannon and Laurence and Marie Mallory of Cutler, Ohio; four grandchildren; Sarah Mallory Deem, John Mallory, Megan Mallory and Rachel Mallory; one brother; Richard Brown of Columbus; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and 3 granddogs, Butterscotch, Mary Kate and Howard.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and one sister, Thelma Gaston Garrett.

Sue was a member of the CCMH Auxiliary for 45 years and in that time she managed the Gift Shop and served as past President. Sue was a librarian at the Carnegie Library and was a secretary at Jackson Junior High School until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of several bridge clubs, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames and Parkersburg Women's Club. Sue attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 16 years, and a founding member of the Crusaders Sunday school class since 1937. She was a past president of the United Methodist Women.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Reverend Paul M. Stadelman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 PM and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the CCMH Auxiliary or St. Paul United Methodist Church.
