PERU — Shirley Thomas Shaver, 80, of Peru, formerly of Streator, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at her home.
Private services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mueller and Pagani Funeral Home in La Salle. The Rev. Dr. Judith Chatfield will officiate.
Burial will be in Deer Park Cemetery.
Private visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Born June 5, 1921, in Streator, she was the daughter of Roy and Anna (Dovin) Cook. She married Clarence J. Thomas on April 6, 1940, in Iowa. He died July 27, 1964. She later married Howard W. Shaver on Feb. 18, 1971, in Ottawa. He died Dec. 24, 1983.
She is survived by a daughter, Marsha Allen of La Salle; a son, Dan (Jackie) Thomas of rural Oglesby; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marge Trainor of Ottawa and Jean (Mrs. Wallace) Pfiefer of Joliet; a brother, Daniel (Ina) Cook of Kansas City, Kan.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson, Richard Shaver; a stepdaughter, Joyce Meyer; and three sisters.
Memorials may be directed to Deer Park Cemetery or Utica Volunteer Ambulance.
