Yolanda F. Bacon-Bonds, born May 5, 1955, went to attend her family reunion on the East Side of Heaven, 1 Pearly Gate Way, on May 31, 2012.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Jasper and Jennie Scott, she was one of six children and was predeceased by her brother, Sylvester 'Pepper' Jones and her first husband, Darrel Bacon.

Yolanda, known with love as 'NaNa' by her siblings, was educated in the Florence Township schools; Florence, NJ where she was raised and attended St. Paul's Baptist Church was baptized and sang in the youth choir.

She met and married her first love, Darrel E. Bacon in 1972 and moved to Evansville, Indiana and from this union they raised three loving sons.

In 2010 she met and married Mark Bonds a dedicated loving husband who cared for her with unconditional love. From this union Mark added his three children and they jokingly referred to themselves as the Brady Bunch.

Yolanda was a faithful and dedicated member of Nazarene Baptist Church for over 20 plus years and loved her church family immensely. She attended bible study, a member of the Nazarene Sanctuary Choir and celebrated the uplifting of Christ.

Employed at Deaconess Hospital, in Evansville for 35 years where she retired as a nurse's aide.
She was always ready with a smile and full of laughter, loved people, and was always helping others. She lived by the philosophy - family is more important than anything and nothing is stronger than blood. She worked hard at teaching her sons to stay together.

Remembering her in life is her husband, Mark; six children, Darrel II (Rosemary), Demetrius (Kim), Detroy (Lisa), Reniesha, RaShawnda and Mark, II; nine grandchildren, RaShawnda, Darian, Jordan, Danaiah, Darrel, III, Davinn, Davianne, RaShiya, and Lamarie; four siblings, Jasper (Maryetta), Milton (Yoko), Dianne (David), Carol (Wayne); two mothers-in-law, Jeanetta Bacon and Joan Talbott; a special aunt, Jackie; sisters-in-law, Debbie Jones, Terri Givens, Stephanie Momon, Jamesetta, Sharon, Valerie and Julie; and brothers-in-law, Larry (Kerry) Pope, Terry (Jovanne) Momon, and Bobby Weakley; a host of nieces and nephews; and a cadre of friends, especially Karen and Vicki.
Never one to complain about anything in life, we know that she is "the wind beneath our wings." She gave us this testimony: "I thank God for letting me bear this bitter cup. If not me, then who, and if not now, then when. I would rather it be me then my children. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Nazarene Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday at Sunset Funeral Home.
