Mabel Irene Baker
Mabel Irene Baker, 85, of Emporia died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at the Emporia Presbyterian Manor.
Mabel Irene White, the daughter of Amos Ansley and Jessie Iris Meek White, was born Feb. 23, 1917, in Emporia. She was married Moses Franklin Baker in Great Falls, Mont. He died Oct. 1, 1989.
Mrs. Baker, a homemaker, was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
She is survived by two step-daughters, Lily Kelly of Topeka and Sheryl Rainey of Fort Worth, Texas; five step-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren. Survivors in Emporia include two nephews, Marion Torrens and Floyd Torrens.
Four brothers, Earl White, John White, Jesse White and Dan White, and six sisters, Nettie White, Emma Ryburg, Mary Furthermyer, Bea Kastrup, Effie Torrens and Ione Webb, died earlier.
The memorial services has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Jan. 14, at the grave site in Memorial Lawn Cemetery; the Rev. Mark Eichler will officiate.
Memorial contributions to the manor can be sent to the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.

A memorial service for Mabel Irene Baker of Emporia will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the grave site at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Eichler of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate.
Mrs. Baker died Dec. 16, 2002.
