Mary was the wife of John Matthew Moore. They were married in Williamston, South Carolina about 1852. From there they moved to Little River, Georgia Cherokee County. They had three children together. John was killed during the Civil War. His body was to damaged for a burial. Mary and the children moved to Jackson Co. Alabama abt. 1881 to be near other family members. She never remarried and her two son's are buried at New Hope . Melissa Jane is buried in Cleburne, Texas Johnson County. Mary was a very good soul who loved her family dearly. She never remarried after John's death. She died at the home of her son William Glenn Moore in Pisgah, Alabama. Surrounded by all the people she loved . Mary Jane Spearman was very much loved in this family and will never be forgotten.
