Melvin L Bawden, 93, of Granger, Utah, passed away June 3, 2012 in the Legacy Assisted Living Center.
Born February 16, 1919 in Granger, Utah to Charles Lambert and Ethel Druce Lambert Bawden. Married Helen Parker June 22, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He spent years working in the Scouting program but his real love, besides Helen, was his horses. He spent a lot of years driving truck for PIE and had his Million Mile pin. His time off and retirement was spent driving. He loved to travel and meet new people, has been to Panama and Alaska many times, and to a large part of the US.
Survivors include 2 sons, Melvin David (Nancy), Lewistown, MT; Wayne LeRoy, Murray, UT; 2 daughters, Diane (Grant) Morgan, Liberty, Idaho; Anita (Stan) Taylor, West Valley City, UT; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen; daughter, Adele; 1 granddaughter, Bonni Joy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
