The following item appeared in the Hamilton County Record, Aurora, Nebraska, on September 30, 1910:
"The many friends of Mrs. Lois Hunnell were shocked and grieved to hear of her sudden death at the home of her daughter at Aurora, Mo. on Friday Sept. 23d. Mrs. Hunnell has scores of friends in Hamilton county, having been an early settler and a woman of kindly thoughts for every one and always present to render sympathy and aid in sickness and death. The funeral and interment will be in Missouri at her late home." [She is now buried in Nebraska.]
