Graveside service for Leon C. Mayfield, 87, Palm Coast, who died at home Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Durwood Foshee officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 10a.m. until the time of services at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Flagler Beach.

Mr. Mayfield was born July 29, 1918, in Birmingham, Ala., and moved to Palm Coast in 2003. Following service in the Navy during World War II, he began a career as a manufacturer's representative in Charlotte, N.C. Prior to retirement in 1990, he was active in the Shriners and enjoyed boating, hunting, woodworking and fishing.

He is survivied by his wife of 64 years, Florence; sons, Leon Jr. and Anthony; daughter, Deborah Rowe; three grandchildren, Courtney Davis, Christopher Rowe and Madelyn Mayfield; and two great-grandchildren, Jay Green and Mia Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Volusia Flager, 93 White Hall Drive, Palm Coast, FL, or Shriners Children's Hospital, 3229 Burnett Ave., Cincinnatti OH 45229. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
