POOLER - William J. Greene, 95, died Thursday, Feb 14 at Moss Oaks Nursing Home.

The Bryan County native had lived in Pooler for the past 60+ years. He was retired from Continental Can and was a member of First Baptist Church of Pooler where he was a deacon emertus. He was also was a member of the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge #116 F&AM, was a 32 degree York Wright Mason and Shriner with Alee Temple in Savannah. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Knight Greene and daughter, Cornelia G. Burnsed.

Survivors: wife, Kathryn Butler Greene of Pooler; daughters and sons-in-law, Clyde G. and Theron Chapman and Elizabeth G. and Jerry Urban, all of Pooler and Patricia G. and Andrew George of Savannah; step-daughter and husband, Tuleda K. and Monty Thompson of St. Simon, Isl.; brothers, Rev. Harold Greene, Sr. of Seabrook, SC, Robert Greene of Eldora, and Seaborn Greene of Pembroke; sisters, Lucille G. Bell, Beulah G. Kuntz and Julia G. Smith, all of Hinesville; ???????????; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren..

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, WestChatham Chapel.

Entombment: Hillcrest Abbey East.
