Mrs. Zobeide L. "Beide" Stephens, 78, of Virginia Beach, Va., died Friday, March 31, at Sentara Bayside Hospital, Virginia Beach.

She was the wife of John William Stephens, who died Sept. 17, 1999.

Born April 4, 1921, in Foxville, she was a daughter of the late Ira Luther and Cleva May Wolfe Fox.

Mrs. Stephens was a life-long member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church, Foxville.

She was employed as a hairdresser all her adult life, and worked at Helen's Beauty Shop in Frederick and, until her recent illness, at "Hair Drezzers" in Virginia Beach. She was a member of the auxiliary of Davis Corner Fire Department, Davis Corner, Va.

Surviving are one brother, Sanford J. Fox of Foxville; one sister, Frances O. Smith of Frederick; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 1201 N. Market St., Frederick, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 5.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at the funeral home. Mrs. Stephens' pastor, the Rev. Julie Brigham, will officiate.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Mount Moriah Lutheran Church, 13156 Edgemont Road, Foxville, Md. 21783.
