Darius H. Mead served as a private in the Civil War from 1861 until 1863 as part of the 70 N.Y. Infantry.
According to family records, he married Annice A. Siglar on 18 Jan 1865 in Pennsylvania. However, Sparrowbush is in New York, not in Pennsylvania, but very close to the state line. I find their names, however, on a marriage record in Waupaca, Wisconsin, in 1879. How this is possible still needs to be researched further.
