Married Ransom M. Jean (1856-unable to locate cemetery) on January 20, 1876 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Rachel was 17 years old.
Rachel had been married for only 21 days when she died:
"Killed by falling tree during storm as she was walking home from a visit".
According to book AND THEN ALONG CAME THE FANNINGS volume I by Joe & Jewel Casey, this unkept cemetery was once called Hurdlow Cemetery and is located on the present Spencer Farm a short distance from the Farris Creek at Hurdlow. It was on the right (past the Hill's home) above a log house that no longer exists.
