Harold R. "Hal" Horne, 85, of Soddy Daisy, died on Sunday, November 13, 2011.

He was a Soddy Daisy High School of 1944 graduate, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #95 and was a retired Teamster. He was also a noted baseball player and an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Horne; brothers, Alvin and Quentin; sisters, Estille, Glotha, Floyce, Roxy and Madge.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Deloris "Lois" Horne; children, Thomas (Cathey) Nichols, John T. Nichols, Alicia (William) Johnson; brother, Dwight (Lometta) Horne; sisters, Veretta Biddle, Jewell (Cotton) Woodward; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Vernon Sneed and the Reverend Mike Combs officiating.

His family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, at the funeral home.
