His body was returned in October of 1948 for burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. He was born January 23, 1926, graduated from Shelbyville, entered the Marine Corps in December, 1943. He was baptized in the Congregation Church, San Diego, CA in January of 1944. Surviving were his parents, Mrs. Hester Yakey, R. O. Yakey and his grandparents, Mrs. Maggie Largent and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Yakey.
