Agness was born February 13, 1915, in Rhyse, MO, the daughter of Burtis and Minnie Arnette Manning. She married Elra Hagler on May 13, 1934 in Salem, MO; he preceded her in death in 1992.
Agness worked at Jewel Food Store for 23 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Ladies Aide at Concordia Lutheran Church. Agness enjoyed flower gardening, baking and spending time with her family.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Edna Lynn; one grandson, Sam Unsbee; one great-grandson, Steven Turner; two sons-in-law, Bill Rowden and Bill Lynn; five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Rowden and Cathy Unsbee; six grandchildren, Joshua (wife, Katie) Lynn, Meloney (husband, Robert) Deffenbaugh, Dawn Akers, Judy Higgins, Susan (husband, Steve) Turner and Greg Rowden; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2300 E. Wilshire Rd., Springfield. Funeral ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Concordia Lutheran Church, with Pastor Michael Koschmann officiating. Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
