According to family tradition both he and his wife are buried here. If so, their graves are unmarked. I list it under Mt. Carmel because there is a family tradition preserved through the descendants of all three sons that James Cannon was buried here. James was the son of Ellis Cannon (baptized at Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, VA). Ellis was born on January 3, 1747/1748 and died March 20, 1833. Ellis served the Patriot cause in the American Revolution and was a Methodist lay minister.
