He was Samuel Cady Straw born 1800 in Waterbury, Washington county, Vermont, the s/o Deacon David and Mary (Cady) Straw. His father Deacon David is also buried here.
Samuel moved to Ohio in 1820 and taught school in Wyandot County for 4-5 years. Samuel C. Straw, his wife Christena and four of their children are buried in the Bowsherville Cemetery located in the Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area near Harpster. The cemetery is in very bad condition with many broken stones...some sunken below ground and wild animals have burrowed through out the grounds. It is a breeding grounds for rattlesnakes.
