Funeral Set Saturday for L. D. S. Church Official

Latter-day church funeral services will be held at one p. m. Saturday for Robert L. Judd, 60, Salt Lake City attorney and general counsel of the church since 1934, who died of a heart ailment Tuesday.

Judd was vice chairman of the general church welfare committee, chairman of the general finance committee and president of the Cooperative Security corporation. He also was a director of The Deseret News and recently was named president of the Deseret Book company. He had practiced law here since 1913.

Judd served in the state legislature in 1913 and was on the Utah State Agricultural college board of trustees from 1920 to 1924. In 1936 he was a director and vice chairman of the metropolitan water board.

He was born at Logan July 6, 1885, and when he was 18 went with his father, Thomas Judd, who was assigned to colonize several large ranches owned by the church in Nevada.
He was graduated from Utah State Agricultural college in 1909 and obtained his legal degree at University of Chicago the following year.

His widow is the former Mary Grant, a daughter of Heber J. Grant, who was president of the church at the time of his death, May 14. Two sons and four daughters also survive.
David O. McKay and J. Reuben Clark, Jr., members of the L. D. S. first presidency, and Albert E.Bowen, of the council of twelve, will speak at the funeral services.
