Walter Joseph was born at Weymouth, Massachusetts on 15 December 1892, the first child of Robert Henry and Elizabeth Gertrude (Madden) Healey. He was single and working at the Stetson Show Company when he registered for the draft on 5 June 1917 at South Braintree. On 25 September 1918 he shipped out on the Plassy as a private in the Headquarters & Supply Company, 6th Anti-Aircraft BN (CAC) from the Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York. After arriving in England Walter contracted the Spanish Flu and died at Liverpool 15 October 1918. He was initially interred at Everton Cemetery, Liverpool on 28 October 1918, but was exhumed on 9 June 1920 for return to the U.S., where his body was re-interred in the family plot at Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland on 25 August 1920.
