Maxine Kathleen Kramer, 84, a longtime Missoula resident, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, in Bellingham, Washington.

Maxine was born November 28, 1925, to Arlee and Jennie Olmstead in a house on Ninth Street, in Missoula, Montana. One of eight children, she attended Franklin and Willard grade schools and Missoula County High School.

Maxine married Robert Irving Kramer on March 28, 1942, in Kalispell, Montana. They returned to Missoula, where they raised two daughters, Billie Jo (Will) and Roberta (Bobbi). Maxine retired in 1985 from the Montana Department of State Lands, Division of Forestry, on Spurgin Road after 25 years of service. After her husband Bob died in 2008, Maxine moved to Ferndale, Washington, in 2009 to be with her daughter Will.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters Wilma Gordon, Opal Gregory, Marjorie Steele and Lucille Cork; and brothers Delbert and Darrell Olmstead.

She is survived by her daughter, Will Popovice and husband Jerry of Ferndale, Washington; daughter Bobbi Frank Kuchenreuther and husband Larry of Missoula, Montana; granddaughter Rennie Frank and partner Suzanne Geer of Stevensville, Montana; granddaughter Anna Huffman and husband Jim of Kenmore, Washinton; great-granddaughters Ashley and Jennifer Huffman of Kenmore, Washington; and her sister, Betty Tripp of Stevensville, Montana.
