Word has been received here of the death of Nellie Madge Smith, 87 of Weston, Rt. 4, who died Thursday morning in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital at Weston, after a long illness.

She was born in Gilmer County, daughter of the late William Aaron and Laura Brown King and was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors included five daughters, Fay Shaffer of Akron, O., Chloe Jones and Merle Butcher, both of Weston, Ruby Harris of Spencer, and Louise Britton of Parkersburg; four sons, Harry Smith and Wayne, both of Parkersburg, Argle of Harrisville and Carlton of Massachusetts; one brother, Odford King, Newport, O.; and one sister, Pearl Carpenter of Dixie; 35 grandchildren; 90 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Harrison Smith; two daughters; one son; and three brothers.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, at Floyd Funeral Home, Weston. The Rev. John Lares officiated with burial in Stalnaker Cemetery, Glenville.
