Funeral services for Howard "Buddy" Baker, 84, of the Prospect community will be Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 6 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church with Bro.'s Steve Hallmark and Kenneth Shelton officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for two hours prior to the service.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Baker passed away Monday June 4, 2012 at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab. He was born on April 3, 1928 in Cullman County to Era and Agnes Wilson Baker. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ellon Calvert Baker; and a daughter, Cathey Baker.

He is survived by a daughter, Lanza Baker; a son, Kelley Connie Baker; five grandchildren: Scott Wilson; Nickolas Wilson; Jamie Baker; Jeff Baker; and Amber Baker; six great grandchildren; five sisters: Imogene McClendon; Ruth Moon; Mildred Sandlin; Mary Ellen Hutchinson; and Marcell Gann; and two brothers, Harold Baker and Donald Baker.
