Robyn was born August 14, 1947, in Mesa, Arizona. She graduated from high school at Needles, California, then attended Arizona State University at Tempe, Arizona, Western Montana College at Dillon, Montana, and Lamar University at Beaumont, Texas.
She married Errol Ray Childs December 17, 1966. They have four Children: Michael Ray, Honey Rae, Danielle, and Tammy. They are both very active in Church positions. Robyn is especially blessed with musical talent. Errol is an agricultural engineer and installs and plans irrigation systems.
