She was born September 26, 1927 in Rexburg, Idaho. She was the second of three children born to Claude and Audrey Anderson. She attended Rexburg schools. She enjoyed school activities, dances and helping her mother around the house.
On April 1, 1946 she married Edgar Martell Holden and 30 years later their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Dorothy and Martell settled in Rexburg. Together they built their dream home. Being able to live near family and good friends made wonderful memories and experiences as, they raised their children.
A career change took them to live in Buhl, and Saint Anthony, ID for a while, but they soon returned to Rexburg.
Dorothy and Martell were blessed with four children whom they both loved very much.
She is survived by her children: Terry (Connie) Holden, of Abilene, TX, Claudia (Joseph) Perry, of Jackson, WY, and Candice (Brad) Chapple, of Rexburg; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Patsy Appell, of Rexburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Martell, in 1982; son, Steven Holden; grandson, Jacob Holden; and a brother, Dean Anderson.
Our family would like to thank those who have been so important to our Mother. We are also grateful to the staff at the Rexburg Homestead Assisted Living Center and Michelle and Lori at Rexburg Hospice.
